The South Korean cargo ship Golden Ray, carrying more than 4,000 new vehicles, capsized off the Atlantic coast of the US state of Georgia. This was reported by The Drive.
- All vehicles on board were manufactured in the USA. The vessel was mainly engaged in the transportation of Hyundai and Kia cars, but the first company said that their cars were not on Golden Ray at the time of the incident. In addition to the Kia, the ship had a small number of other brands of vehicles.

A ship packed with cars was heading for the port of Baltimore to pick up another cargo before heading to the Middle East. For unclear reasons, it completely lay down on the port side, and a fire broke out in some of the cargo compartments. There were 24 crew members on the ship - they were all rescued, after which the coast guard proceeded to evacuate the ship.
