Video: A Serial Crossover With A Monitor Larger Than Your Home TV Shown In Frankfurt

Chinese startup Byton has brought the M-Byte electric crossover ready for mass production to Frankfurt. In a couple of years, the novelty will enter the European market and will compete with TeslModel Y.

The Byton M-Byte will be offered with two powerplant variations. The basic one is one 272-horsepower motor on the rear axle, which is powered by a 72 kWh battery pack, and in the more advanced version there are already two electric motors, one on each axle, with a total capacity of 408 horsepower, and a 95 kW battery pack. ⋅h. The basic m-Byte can travel about 360 kilometers on a single charge, and the twin-engine one - 435 kilometers. The batteries can be charged from a 150 kW charging station, in which case it will take about 35 minutes to charge up to 80%.
- The main feature of the M-Byte is a giant curved display that stretches the full width of the front panel. Called Shared Experience, it measures 48 inches and is the largest in-car multimedia screen in the world.
- The display is so huge that other smaller displays are used to control it: one, 8 ", is located between the front seats, and the second, 7", is built right into the steering wheel. In addition, the system can be controlled using voice commands and gestures.

In case of accidents, the display is covered with a special shockproof glass, safe for the driver and passengers, and the driver's control display is located above the airbag and does not interfere with its operation. Moreover, the M-Byte has successfully passed the toughest crash test with a 25% frontal overlap according to the North American IIHS standard.

Pre-orders for the Byton M-Byte will open next year. First, the crossover will appear in the Chinese market, and in 2021 it will reach Europe and the United States. In Europe, prices for an electric car will start at 45,000 euros (3.2 million rubles).
- The buyers are promised an advanced and very convenient service: for example, the representatives of the dealership will be able to pick up the car themselves for scheduled maintenance and return it to the owner, and an on-site team of craftsmen will eliminate minor malfunctions.
