Crossover Hyundai 45 Concept: A Projector Instead Of Buttons And A "home" Interior

The Hyundai 45 Concept electric crossover debuted in Frankfurt - a prototype with an autopilot, self-cleaning cameras and a cabin that looks more like a living room.

• The number 45 in the name is a tribute to the history of the company. 45 years ago, the Koreans unveiled the Pony Coupe prototype, which was designed by the Italian studio Italdesign. The front part of the new crossover is made in the style of that model - the same elongated radiator grill and "four-eyed" optics.
• In addition, both the front and rear struts are tilted towards the center at the same 45 degree angle. Such outlines of the body in profile, as conceived by the designers, should be associated with the shape of a diamond and determine the general direction of development of the design of Hyundai electric vehicles.
• When creating the interior, the designers focused on … home furniture. They are promoting the idea of ​​transforming a car's cockpit into a comfortable living space. Since the prototype is designed to be completely self-contained, both front seats can be rotated 180 degrees to communicate with the passengers in the second row. The chairs are made of wood and upholstered in a dense fabric similar to that used for ordinary home chairs, and the floor is covered with a home-like carpet, which also improves noise insulation.

• The Koreans do not talk about the technical characteristics of the prototype, but they boast of two unusual crossover chips. The first is the infotainment system, which, instead of the usual touchscreen displays, has a projection interface: a digital menu is projected onto a flat surface of the front panel, and the user controls all functions by touching the projection of buttons and tabs. The second feature is a system called CamerMonitoring System, it monitors the degree of contamination of view cameras in real time and automatically cleans the lenses when necessary.
