Video: Ferrari F8 Spider Roadster Turns Out To Be As Fast As The Tributo Coupe
The mid-engined coupe Ferrari F8 Tributo received an open version of the Spider six months after its debut. Its official premiere will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Ferrari F8 Spider is equipped with a biturbo 3.9-liter V8 with 720 hp. (770 Nm), which is combined with a seven-speed "robot" with two clutches. Like the coupe, the roadster accelerates to "hundreds" in 2.9 seconds, and the top speed is 340 km / h. The open version is second only in acceleration from zero to 200 km / h - 8.2 seconds versus 7.8.
- The reinforced body and the hard top folding mechanism, which does its job in 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 km / h, made the model a little heavier - the dry weight of the roadster is 1400 kilograms versus 1330 for the coupe. However, compared to its predecessor - the 670-horsepower Ferrari 488 Spider - the new product is 20 kilograms lighter. And its aerodynamics are 10 percent more efficient - due to the optimization of the air channels and the location of the radiators, as well as the extended lifting spoiler.
Like the F8 Tributo, the new roadster has a redesigned Side Slip Angle Control, which helps control the car in a skid by adjusting the brake pressure, as well as the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer stabilization system, which is even smarter and faster.
The Ferrari F8 Spider is already available to order, but the first deliveries to customers are scheduled for 2020. The cost of the model has not yet been disclosed.
