The Ministry of Transport of Russia has developed guidelines for reducing accidents, including, for example, adding a function to recognize the switched off dipped beam in road cameras. According to Kommersant, the 79-page document has already been sent to road owners across the country.

  • By 2025, it is planned to install 10 thousand new complexes for fixing violations. They must be able to automatically detect 15 different types of violations, including turns in prohibited places, as well as driving without dipped headlights in the daytime. In 2013-2014, in some regions, they tried to fine with cameras for driving without headlights, but the traffic police abandoned this idea: the process was not automated. The fine for such a violation is 500 rubles.
  • Also, the new document proposes to prohibit overtaking on a two-lane road less than 7 meters wide. The maneuver will be prohibited both on the site itself and for 500-700 meters at the entrance to it.
  • Another innovation will be the synchronization of the operation of electronic boards showing temporary speed limits with the settings of road cameras. Now such signs are used, for example, on the Moscow Ring Road, but if they show a limit of 60 km / h, then the complexes for fixing violations are still set to 100 km / h.

In total, more than 12 thousand stationary complexes for fixing violations operate in Russia. Recently, the State Traffic Inspectorate published an interactive map of Russia with the location points of all complexes for fixing violations.
