Mercedes-Benz has presented new modifications with the 250 e index - immediately for the hatchback and sedan of the A-class, as well as the compact van of the B-class. For the first time in history, these compact models have become plug-in hybrids.

• New items are equipped with a 1.33-liter petrol "turbo four" with a capacity of 160 hp. (250 Nm) and a 102 hp electric motor. (300 Nm), built into an eight-speed "robot" with two clutches. The total power of the hybrid power plant is 218 hp. (450 Nm). Front-wheel drive only.

• The Mercedes-Benz 250 e hatchback accelerates to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds, while the sedan and compact van take 6.7 and 6.8 seconds, respectively. At the same time, the maximum speed of the four-door is 240 km / h, while the five-door models "hit the ceiling" 5 km / h earlier.
• A liquid-cooled battery with a capacity of 15.6 kWh and a mass of 150 kilograms is located under the rear seats. Because of this, the exhaust pipe ends in the middle of the bottom. Mercedes-Benz said that the volume of the trunk, under which the fuel tank is now located, has slightly decreased, but they do not give exact numbers. The electric range ranges from 56 to 69 kilometers, depending on the body type. The maximum speed in this mode does not exceed 140 km / h.

The premiere of the hybrid versions of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class will take place at the September Frankfurt Motor Show. In Europe, new items can already be ordered: in Germany, the cost of a hatchback 250 e is at least 36 943 euros (2.74 million rubles), a sedan - 37 300 euros (2.77 million rubles), and a compact van B 250 e - 37 663 euros (2, 8 million rubles).
