
Video: Russian Designer Will Draw Koenigsegg Hypercars

The Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg has hired Alexander Selipanov as the chief designer of the brand. Selipanov was born in 1983 in Tbilisi, studied and lived in Moscow, and then managed to work for Bugatti and Genesis companies.

- After school, Alexander went to study in California, where he received an education in automotive design. Since 2005, he worked at the Volkswagen studio in Potsdam, Germany, where he participated in the creation of the Lamborghini Huracan supercar. In 2014, Selipanov was appointed creative director of Bugatti. His creations include the Vision Gran Turismo concept and the Chiron 1500-horsepower hypercar.

Three years ago, Alexander left Volkswagen and went to work for the Genesis brand, a premium sub-brand of Hyundai, where he headed the European design center Global Genesis Advanced Studio. Under his leadership, two recent concepts, the Genesis Essenti and the Mint, were created.
- What kind of projects Alexander Selipanov will be engaged in at Koenigsegg has not yet been reported. He will officially start his new job in October 2019.
