Acura Hinted At The Revival Of "charged" Models

Premium sub-brand Hond-Acur has unveiled the Type S concept for this week's Monterey Car Week in California. The prototype is a harbinger of the second generation TLX sedan, which will have a "charged" modification.

• The AcurType S features a CFRP aerodynamic body kit, four large exhaust pipes, 21-inch wheels and four-piston Brembo brake calipers.

• The second-generation production sedan AcurTLX is expected to be presented in 2020. Plus, two models from the Type S line will be released over the next two years.

In total, there have been four "charged" models with the Type S attachment in the history of Acur: the CSX and TL sedans, as well as the RSX and CL coupes. They were produced from 2001 to 2008. The latest model in the series, the TL sedan, was equipped with a 3.5 V6 290 hp engine, six-speed manual transmission, Brembo brakes and a modified suspension.
