MINI has unveiled updated charged versions of the John Cooper Works (JCW) for the Countryman crossover and Clubman station wagon. For the first time in the history of the brand, the engines produce more than 300 horsepower.
Two-liter "turbo four" power 306 h.p. (450 Nm) the soplatform BMW X2 M35i shared with the British novelties. Previously charged MINIs were equipped with a 231-horsepower engine. Now Clubman JCW accelerates to “hundreds” in 4.9 seconds (versus 6.3 previously), and Countryman JCW - in 5.1 seconds (versus 6.6). The maximum speed for both is limited at around 250 km / h.
- For the most powerful Clubman and Countryman it is no longer possible to order a six-speed "mechanics": the cars are equipped only with an eight-speed "automatic" Steptronic and all-wheel drive transmission ALL4.
- In addition to a more powerful engine, the JCW versions are distinguished by an improved engine and transmission cooling system, as well as a modified and reinforced body: new struts, mounts and bulkheads have appeared in the engine compartment and chassis. The base already has a self-locking front differential and reinforced brakes with four-piston calipers.
The MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Countryman will go on sale in 2019. The cost of new products will be announced later.
