Following the results of the first two months of 2019, 12.5 thousand new crossovers and SUVs with diesel engines were sold in Russia. This is 10.5% less than a year earlier. One of the reasons for the negative dynamics was the drop in demand for the leaders of the last year, as well as the decision of the Volkswagen brand to temporarily suspend sales of diesel versions of the Tiguan crossover (sales resumed in March). In 2018, the Tiguan was ranked fourth and 5.8% in the diesel crossover segment.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport became the leader in 2019 - 1234 sold cars (+ 35.5%). He displaced last year's leader ToyotLand Cruiser Prado to second place, sales of which fell 43% (to 934 cars). Renault Duster took the third place - 784 cars (+ 3.16%), knocking out KISorento to the fifth line. Sales of Sorento with diesel engines fell by a quarter: dealers sold just 736 vehicles. Fresh Hyundai SantFe climbed above it - 749 sold cars (+ 0.4%).
