Audi Q4 E-tron Concept Revealed Its Serial Future

Audi unveiled the Q4 e-tron electric crossover at the Geneva Motor Show. While this is still a concept, but the serial version of the automaker has promised to release in 2020.

With its massive radiator grille, narrow headlights, sculpted sidewalls and a single block of lights, the Q4 e-tron is reminiscent of the flagship Q8 and the e-tron GT show car. The bumpers and sills of the Q4 e-tron feature glowing logos and 22-inch wheels.

In the interior of the conceptual electric crossover there is a digital instrument panel, a projection display, a 12.3-inch screen of the multimedia system, turned towards the driver, a climate control sensor unit and a push-button selector for driving modes.

• The concept, like the future production car, is built on the Volkswagen MEB platform. The crossover is 4.59 meters long, 1.90 meters wide, and 1.61 meters high. The wheelbase is 2.77 meters.

• The specs of the Q4 e-tron match up with the SkodVision iV concept, which was also shown in Geneva. They are equipped with two electric motors with a total power 306 h.p.… Acceleration to "hundreds" from Audi takes 6.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 180 km / h.

• In most cases, the Q4 e-tron will only use the rear 204hp electric motor. But if more power is needed, the front axle with an electric motor will be connected, which produces up to 102 hp. Also, the all-wheel drive can be used to increase stability on the roads, including on slippery surfaces and in corners.

• The battery capacity of the Q4 e-tron is 1 kWh less than that of the Vision iV. This is partly why the power reserve per charge was reduced by 50 kilometers (450 kilometers on the WLTP cycle). In half an hour, you can replenish an empty battery up to 80 percent.

The production version of the Q4 e-tron will appear at the end of 2020 … The car will be the brand's fifth electric vehicle. Audi's lineup already includes the larger e-tron crossover, with the coupe e-tron Sportback coming out a bit later this year, as well as the Q2L e-tron - especially for the Chinese market. In addition, the e-tron GT electric sedan will premiere in the second half of 2020.
