Formula Mercedes-Benz Model Sold At The Price Of The Kia Seltos Crossover

Amalgam, known for its collectible models, has announced a new project - a super-detailed copy of the Mercedes-Benz W196 racing car, which was driven by the famous racer Stirling Moss. Only five copies of the model will be made, applications are accepted at a price of 17,165 dollars (or 1,264,000 rubles - the approximate equivalent of the cost of the KiSeltos crossover in the basic configuration).

• The Mercedes-Benz W196, which first appeared on the tracks in 1954, has an impressive number of victories on the racetracks, although the car spent only two seasons in big sport. Amalgam has developed a copy of the car in which the Stirling Moss performed - this is the so-called version of the Rumpfwagen or Monoposto, that is, a modification with open wheels.
• The car is depicted as it crossed the finish line at the British Grand Prix in July 1955, while retaining all the nuances of hard racing. It is alleged that the development of the model used both archival materials from Mercedes-Benz - photographs and drawings, as well as digital scanned data of real original cars. In addition, the project of the model was checked for authenticity by the engineers of the German company.
• The model is made on a scale of 1: 8. Its price is influenced not only by the cult status of the prototype and the detail of execution, but also by collectible rarity: only five copies of the miniature Mercedes-Benz W196 will be assembled and painted in Amalgam exclusively by hand. Production has not yet started, but the company is already accepting pre-orders.

• Amalgam previously announced a replica of another iconic sports car, the Ferrari 330 P4 Le Mans, equally detailed. However, its circulation will be 20 times larger, and the size will be smaller. Therefore, it is estimated at 1358 dollars or 100 thousand rubles.
