Video: BMW Has A Motorcycle With Huge "nostrils"

BMW Motorrad has unveiled a custom version of its newest cruiser, the R 18: the Spirit of Passion, built by Kingston Custom, led by Dirk Olerking. The motorcycle received a nose "fairing" in retro style with huge "nostrils".

The customizer worked mainly on the exterior of the motorcycle: Dirk Olerking said that he would not interfere with motor technology and chassis tuning, since they simply do not need it. However, the exterior of the BMW R 18 has changed noticeably.
- The massive “fairing” extends all the way to the fuel tank and motorcycle engine, and features specially thought-out graphics and a replica of a twin radiator grille in the style of vintage BMWs. At the same time, a modern LED headlight is integrated into the fairing.
- A similar approach is taken with the design of the rear of the motorcycle. In particular, the rear fender almost completely covers the wheel and carries a kind of "fin" with a built-in lamp. As noted in BMW, in general, the design of the custom is made in the style of Art Deco.

Spirit of Passion is the third custom in the SoulFuel lineup, which BMW is creating along with renowned customizers. The first custom motorcycle of this series was built by Californian mechanic Roland Sands: he adapted the cruiser for acceleration racing. The second work belongs to the Austrian Bernhard Naumann, who turned the BMW R 18 into a kind of cafe racer.
- BMW Motorrad unveiled the R 18 last spring. This model marked the return of the brand to the cruising motorcycle segment. The BMW R 18, with a deliberately vintage look, is powered by the largest twin-cylinder engine in BMW motorcycle history, with a volume of 1.8 liters. In Russia, the BMW R 18 costs at least 1,860,000 rubles.
- Last fall, the first BMW motorcycle, created with the participation of engineers from the M Automotive Division, was declassified. The superbike BMW M 1000 RR, capable of reaching 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds, will appear on the Russian market in the spring.
