  • Both cars were purchased by the same person - a certain Clyde Farris - on the same day, June 29, 1979, from the same seller. This is confirmed by the purchase documents, photocopies of which were published by the auction house. Both the Town Car sedan and the Mark V coupe have the same body color, and their interiors are trimmed in the same color scheme - except for the fact that the coupe has a leather interior, and the sedan has velor interior.

  • The power plants of the Lincolns are identical: it is a 6.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 168 hp. and 433 Nm of torque, paired with a three-band automatic transmission. For what purpose the owner of the cars bought two almost identical cars, differing only in the number of doors, the auctioneers do not specify, the low mileage of the sedan and coupe is also not explained.
  • The owner paid $ 16,251 for the sedan in 1979, and $ 17,717 for the coupe. As the publication Carscoops specifies, in terms of current money, this is about 62 thousand and 67 600 dollars, respectively (4.6 and 5 million rubles). Exactly what amount is planned to be bailed out for an extravagant couple is unknown, although Lincolns are sold separately.
  • Earlier at the same auction, the Ferrari F430 F1, once owned by former US President Donald Trump, was sold. It was planned to gain up to half a million dollars for the supercar, but in reality the transaction amount was only 270 thousand (just over 20 million rubles).
