Video: Cadillac Celestiq Electric Sedan Will Receive A "smart Roof" With Adjustable Transparency

Cadillac has shared new information about what it plans to equip the flagship Celestiq electric sedan. The sedan will receive a "smart roof", the transparency of which can be changed, and a monitor width of the entire front panel.

The sedan's roof will be a laminated glass panel, but Cadillac said the Celestiq will be the first EV with an adjustable roof. At the same time, Cadillac engineers plan to divide the panel into four segments, in which the transparency can be changed individually - according to the needs of each of the four passengers.
- The front panel of the electric car will also be glass: it will be a huge media screen that stretches along the windshield from pillar to pillar. Display specifications have not yet been announced. Three more touchscreen displays will be at the disposal of the rear passengers. Two of them will demonstrate media content, and the third will become a multimedia and climate control panel.

Earlier it was reported that the Cadillac Celestiq will be built on the GM Ultium platform (it is also used, for example, in the design of the GMC Hummer EV). The projected power reserve is about 650 kilometers. In addition, the sedan chassis will receive steerable rear wheels and four-wheel drive.
- The exact date of the sedan's debut has not yet been announced. It is expected to be presented a year after the release of the production version of the Lyriq soplatform crossover - in 2023. All in all, GM plans to bring to the market up to 20 electric novelties under different brands in the next few years.
- Similar huge monitors have been previously announced by other companies. Mercedes-Benz will equip a full-width LCD panel with the EQS electric car, and BMW is developing a completely new display for the production version of the iX crossover.
