Hyundai has released the first teaser images of the Ioniq 5 crossover, which will be the firstborn of the new electric sub-brand. The premiere of the novelty is scheduled for February, and by the end of the year the electric crossover may enter the Russian market.

- Hyundai claims that the exterior of the Ioniq 5 will exemplify a fundamentally new approach to shaping the exterior of electric vehicles. When designing the crossover, the company's designers used the latest style called Parametric Pixels: the image of the “smallest unit of a digital image” is taken as a basis, for example, when designing the wheel disks and lighting equipment of the crossover.
-
The front of the Ioniq 5 is adorned with an array of LED lights. How exactly they are planned to be used is still unknown. Perhaps the lights will be able to display pictograms that provide communication between the car and pedestrians. Other innovations include 20-inch wheels, the largest ever fitted to an electric Hyundai, and a bonnet that completely covers the front of the Ioniq 5.
- The electric car will be built on the E-GMP platform specially designed for this line. Officially, the technical characteristics of the crossover have not yet been announced, but Hyundai has already assured that the crossover batteries will be able to support the connection of external consumers - say, electrical equipment during outdoor recreation, and the Ioniq 5 will take only 100 kilometers to replenish the energy reserve sufficient to travel 100 kilometers 5 minutes.
- Earlier it became known that the top-end modification of the crossover can get a twin-engine power plant with a capacity of 313 hp. and a 73 kWh battery, which is enough for 550 kilometers.
- Information about the likely appearance of Ioniq in our country was indicated in October last year. As reported, the Ioniq 5 crossover may become part of Hyundai Mobility's branded subscription program, since the company has no plans to sell it at retail yet.
