At one of the intersections in the Leventsovsky district of Rostov-on-Don, 18 traffic lights appeared at once, each of which also carries road signs. A video recording of the intersection was published in the telegram channel "Rostov No. 1", photos of this place are posted on Pikabu. At the same time, the local traffic police do not know why there are so many traffic lights at the intersection of roads.

  • Judging by the materials posted on social networks, a road junction in the area under construction was provided with a "forest of traffic lights". Local commentators on Pikabu suggest that the visual effect of the "forest" is created by filming the intersection from a single point, while the multiple intersections of the carriageways at this intersection make so many traffic lights warranted.
  • Nevertheless, the local traffic police said that they would investigate the situation. Agency "RIA" in the department of road supervision of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in the Rostov region noted that the agency did not participate in the design of the road construction and the placement of traffic lights and signs. However, now the State traffic inspectorate intends to find out whether the installation of 18 traffic lights was really necessary.
  • In April last year, it was announced the creation of a mobile application in Russia that will allow citizens to control traffic lights. With the help of the new program, it will be possible, for example, to extend the operating time of the red signal in order to have time to cross the road. The Caterpillar application should appear in the public domain by 2022.
