Traffic Police Will Open Data On Persistent Traffic Offenders To Car-sharing Services

The State Traffic Inspectorate plans to launch a new database in the near future: it will collect information about persistent traffic offenders. According to TASS, access to the database will be available for taxi aggregators, car-sharing services and companies that hire drivers.

• The so-called "data mart", which the Ministry of Internal Affairs is developing together with the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, will include information about multiple traffic violations and drivers deprived of the right to drive transport. It will allow checking applicants for the position of a driver for their "biography", both Russians and foreigners.
• Taxi aggregators and car-sharing services will also be able to carry out preventive checks. It is assumed that this will give them the opportunity to prevent malicious violators from operating.
• The exact date of the launch of the online database was not named, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs promised the agency that it would start working at the beginning of the year.

• For the first time, it became known about the possibility of opening access to such information to taxi companies and car-sharing services in November this year. However, the department has now clarified the approximate dates for the start of the service. Earlier it was also reported about the upcoming large-scale changes in the rules of car sharing: they offer to register for services through the portal of state services, and cars for per-minute rent can get special license plates.
