Video: The 80-year-old Retiree Bought The 80th Porsche Of His Life. The Whole Garage Is Clogged With These Cars
The Motor1 edition spoke about an 80-year-old Vienna native named Ottokar, who had a Porsche sports car for every year of his life. The eightieth car was the Boxster Spyder roadster.
Ottokar's love for sports cars from Stuttgart was born after a passion for racing. Ottokar bought his first Porsche in 1972. It was a Speed Yellow 911 E Coupe. In 1977, he was allowed to pick up the new 911 Carrer 3.0 from the factory in Zuffenhausen himself.
- Due to the vastness of the collection, Ottokar had to build a separate building, where he placed his cars. Today there are 38 models in the garage, among which there are racing cars: 917, 910, 956, 904 and 964 Cup. Ottokar is most often driven into town in the Porsche 911 R, 911 Speedster 991 series and Boxster Spyder 981 series.
- In the man's garage, there are also posters and signage related to Porsche, and a home theater in which Ottokar watches the movie Le Mans with Steve McQueen.
- The collector also took his new Boxster Spyder in Miami Blue from the factory. He, as a guest of honor, was allowed to stick the brand emblem on the hood of the car himself. And Ottokar does not stop there: he plans to drive along the Pan American Highway in a Porsche Cayenne.
In mid-December, we talked about collector Steve Smith, who collected two dozen rare Volkswagen Golfs. The rarest car in his collection is the Golf Rallye, produced in the amount of 5,070 cars and equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
