The Moscow State Traffic Safety Inspectorate has already issued more than 2 thousand decisions on the basis of data from traffic cameras that record unfastened seat belts and conversations on the phone while driving. According to Kommersant, in order to avoid errors, the operation of the neural network is rechecked by at least two living people.

  • Cameras based on neural networks were put into operation on December 1. Based on their data, more than 100 resolutions have already been issued for using the phone while driving (a fine of 1.5 thousand rubles) and about 2.3 thousand receipts have been issued for an unfastened belt (a fine of 1 thousand rubles). The data center noted that not only a conversation will be considered a violation, but also any use of the phone without hands free - even if the driver, for example, took the gadget in his hands to clarify the route in the navigator.
  • How exactly the new complexes work, it became known back in November. Later, the traffic police explained that the cameras will take at least 10 high-resolution pictures in order to exclude the erroneous imposition of fines. According to Kommersant, the conclusions drawn by the cameras are checked at least twice - by a data center technician (who verifies the numbers, make and model of the car) and a traffic police inspector, who draws up the resolution.

  • The experts of the publication noted that scientific methods of checking such violations do not exist, therefore the fate of the fine - whether it will be imposed or not - depends entirely on the inspector. However, at the moment, only one complaint has been received by the traffic police - it concerns an erroneously imposed fine for an unfastened seat belt. The data center plans to draw conclusions about the system's performance in three to four months - after the accumulation of law enforcement practice.
  • In total, there are eight cameras on the roads of the capital that are capable of detecting such violations. The Moscow Department of Transport has already published their addresses.
