  • The electric car was developed by the New Production Technologies Center at the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The creators of "Kama-1" call it a compact crossover: with a length of 3.4 meters and a width of 1.7 meters, the car can take on board up to 4 people, and the off-road capability is explained by short overhangs and impressive ground clearance.
  • The output of the Kama-1 engine has not yet been named, but, as Izvestia specifies, an electric car can accelerate to 60 km / h in 3 seconds at a maximum speed of 150 km / h. The basic version of "Kama" will be equipped with a 33-kilowatt battery, which will provide a cruising range of 250-300 kilometers, depending on the driving mode. Charging the batteries to 80% will take about 20 minutes.

  • It is not yet clear at what facilities it is planned to produce the electric crossover, however, KamAZ is officially named the industrial partner of the project. The base cost of the future novelty will be about a million rubles, but only if there is sufficient mass production and sales of about 20 thousand cars per year.
  • In parallel, another project of the "national electric vehicle" is being implemented in Russia - a compact city car called Zetta. Its assembly could have started as early as December, but the launch of production has been postponed indefinitely for financial reasons.
