British experts from the investment company Money have found out the chase scenes from which films excite the audience the most. The top 20 includes two films about Mad Max and five parts of "Fast and the Furious".

  • The movie with the most gripping chase scene was Mad Max: Fury Road, released in 2015. On the second and third places - the sixth and seventh parts of "Fast and the Furious", the fourth position was taken by "Ronin" of 1998 with Robert De Niro and Jean Reno, closed the five leaders "Kid on the drive".
  • The very first part of "Fast and the Furious" was in sixth place, the fifth episode of the epic and the film "Hobbs and Shaw", which tells the story of supporting characters, settled on the 15th and 19th. Another part of the story of Mad Max - the film "Warrior of the Road", filmed in 1981, - put on the 13th position. And the oldest movies of all that made it into the top 20 were "The French Messenger" in 1971 and "Gone in 60 Seconds" in its classic 1974 version - this tape closed the top twenty.
  • In addition, the list includes "Terminator 2", "Batman: The Dark Knight", "The Matrix Reloaded" and "Death Proof" by Quentin Tarantino. At the same time, the researchers emphasized that the leaders did not include films whose plot includes generally accepted standards of cinematography - for example, "Bullitt" or "Robbery in Italian".

  • The most thrilling movie chases were computationally determined. Based on reviews on reputable movie sites, the researchers selected the most popular films with car scenes, and then showed them to a test group of 100 people. Each viewer was connected to a heart rate monitor. The pulse during the chase scene was compared to that of a person at rest. The films that "accelerated" the viewer's heartbeat the most, and became the leaders of the rating. For example, during the "Road of Fury" the pulse of those who watched the film jumped from 64 to 85 beats per minute, the results of the sixth and seventh "Fast and the Furious" - 84 and 83 beats per minute, respectively.
  • Next year, the 25th film about British special agent James Bond will be released on screens ("Quantum of Solace" took 7th position in the list of movie chase). A set of cars that took part in the filming of action scenes for "No Time to Die" has already been shown in the trailer.
