BMW Z4 And Supra Recall Due To Fire Hazard

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall of the BMW Z4 and ToyotSupra. A small number of sports cars should go for unplanned repairs, but the reason is significant: they have defective fuel tanks.

• The problem lies in the threat of fuel leakage through the seam between the two halves of the tank, which, of course, can lead to a fire. The repair will be carried out by replacing the element entirely free of charge for the owners. In total, the review affects 14 copies of the Z4 and 35 "Supras".
• It is noteworthy that in the past year, both models have more than once fell under service campaigns, but not for such serious reasons. For example, a number of sports cars have defective headlights. There was also a large-scale recall from BMW due to problems with the rear-view camera, which also affected the Supra. Also in 2019, several Toyota were sent for service due to incorrect seat belt fastenings.
• In the summer of 2020, the recall of the BMW Z4 in Russia was announced - due to a possible breakdown of the steering mechanism (failure of the transverse steering rods).
• Built on the same platform (and using BMW units), the Z4 and Supr were introduced in 2018 and 2019, respectively. They differ in appearance and interior design, as well as in some settings, but they are equipped with the same motors.
