From November 1, motorists can issue an electronic notification of an accident instead of a paper one using the "MTPL Assistant" application. This design is available in all regions of Russia for individuals and legal entities.

  • Electronic notification without calling the traffic police can be used in cases where two cars were involved in the accident, there are no injuries and damage to third parties. Participants will need to draw a diagram of an accident and take photographs, while both must be registered with public services.
  • The innovation was preceded by an experiment in five regions of the country, which started last year. It is assumed that the registration takes no more than 15 minutes.
  • Since November 1, changes in the procedure for issuing PTS have also come into force: now only electronic passports must be issued for new and first-time imported vehicles. Read more about this and other changes in the lives of drivers this fall - here.
  • In October, it became known about a proposal to allow the use of a driver's license to verify identity. Rights can begin to be accepted as an additional document for some operations requiring this.
