We have already written about cases when cars by mistake ended up not at all where their drivers would like to go. But what if someone purposefully drives to where his car, in an amicable way, does not belong? And if “there” is off-road, and “car” is very expensive and not at all about off-road? Then we have videos that we don't mind watching. We have collected eight videos that cause delight, surprise and even outrage.
Let's start with a fresh video from Rolls-Royce, produced with the help of a client from the Middle East. More precisely, his own crossover Cullinan, which was sent to one of the classic local entertainment: the furious conquest of the sand dunes!
Rolls-Royce said the video showcases the Cullinan's off-road capabilities and the benefits of the Magic Carpet Ride's adaptive suspension, which smoothes out most road bumps. Yes, yes, we readily believe. But it seems that someone just wanted beautiful pictures.
The crossover of the British brand, presented in 2018, is equipped with a 6.75-liter V12 with 571 hp. and with 850 Nm of torque (600 forces and 900 Nm in the "charged" version of the Black Badge). The minimum price of Cullinan in Russia is 25 million rubles, but the cost of real commercial vehicles starts at 30 million.
Another luxurious British all-terrain vehicle - the Bentley Bentayg crossover - also often finds itself off-road. Although, by and large, its habitual habitat is more likely to be parking near nightclubs and Michelin-starred restaurants. However, the company shared the videos from off-road tests even before the premiere of the model, as if hinting that the Bentayg would not be lost on an unsteady surface.
And the most interesting thing was the video about the special version of the Falconry, presented in 2017. This Bentayg is for … falconry lovers! The Mulliner court atelier inserted a pair of luxurious boxes into the trunk of the crossover for the necessary equipment, such as a GPS-tracking unit for tracking birds, binoculars, tangles and hoods, a knife, perches and even thermoses with a blanket. At the same time, it added themed design elements to the salon.
It is unlikely that all this helps in conquering the dunes, but in any case, the Bentayga looks in the sands no less impressive than the Cullinan.
The cost of such a crossover is not named. In Russia, at the moment, versions are offered with four-liter gasoline and diesel engines, as well as 635-horsepower modifications with W12. Prices range from 16.6 to 28 million rubles.
Rolls Royce Phantom and Rolls-Royce Wraith
YouTube channel TaxTheRich100 has surprised everyone with unusual videos with expensive and collectible cars since 2012. On account of the authors, a game of tug-of-war on two Ferrari F50s, a "farm" "Jimkhana" on an F40 GT and, for example, crazy rides on a rare Jaguar XJ220. As they say, get away from the screens of car collectors and petrolheads with a weak heart.
But for our today's selection, the video with the Rolls-Royce Phantom and the Wraith coupe is much more interesting. Just look how gracefully they ride … sideways through the fields!
Unfortunately, the channel hasn't published anything since 2016. In 2017, a short video with the participation of Bugatti Veyron, Bugatti EB110, Lamborghini Countach and MiurSV on the road was leaked, but it was blocked. The full version of the video never saw the light. It's a pity!

Lamborghini Gallardo and Rebellion R2K
Swedish athlete Jon Olsson, in addition to his passion for winter sports and all kinds of extreme sports, is also famous for his love of cool cars. Moreover, all his cars are being finalized without fail. Horsepower and roof boxing are added to the already powerful sports and supercars (Jon's signature touch), and the hardcore Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4² was even cut off the roof to fit in a parking lot in Monaco!
And quite often Olsson drives off on his unique (most often purely road, at first glance) cars from the asphalt - mainly on snowy slopes. One of the two most spectacular trips, in our opinion, was the passage of the "snake" on a Lamborghini Gallardo tuned by the DMC studio.
Another colorful video is dedicated to the uphill ride on the Rebellion R2K sports car. It is an almost completely rebuilt GTR by British manufacturer Ultima and looks very much like a racing prototype. However, the R2K with a capacity of under 600 forces and a mass of only about a ton is certified for use on ordinary roads!
Like many of Olsson's other cars, the R2K was subsequently sold. The Swedish extreme has estimated a sports car with a mileage of 29 thousand kilometers at 249 thousand euros (almost 22.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate). In 2015, the car was acquired by a collector from Hong Kong.
Lamborghini Huracan and Lamborghini Huracan
And a couple more examples, when off-road, it seems that Lamborghinis were completely unsuitable for this. In the first case, we are talking about blogger Alex Choi and his 800-horsepower Huracan with a mechanical supercharger. The guy performed such merciless tricks that the dirt from the air intakes of the compartment could be shoveled with a shovel!
In general, this dvuhdverka got it more than once or twice. Over time, the 5.2-liter V10 was replaced with a supercharger for two turbines, and then Choi completely remade the Lambo into a kind of buggy - with an external roll cage made of pink pipes.
In the second case, the supercar suddenly became an off-roader thanks to Lamborghini itself. In 2019, the brand built the Huracan Sterrato with increased ground clearance and all the attributes of a rally car. The Italians speak vaguely about the appointment of an extremely unusual supercar, but it is possible that in this way the company is studying potential demand.
Bonus: Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6 × 6
"Gelendvagens" off-road is by no means an amazing sight. But have you ever seen Gelik in the pool?
