Car-sharing operator Delimobil has introduced a digital sobriety test for its customers before driving a rented car in Moscow. Earlier, the innovation was tested in other cities of the service's presence, TASS reports.
- The test is a survey with different tasks. The user's task is to choose a certain combination of numbers or shapes as quickly as possible. Delays will tell you that something is wrong with the driver's concentration and reaction speed, and it is better for him to refrain from driving. The company noted that when developing the system, they consulted with the police and narcologists, taking into account their recommendations.
- "Since October 23, after a pilot launch in the regions, Delimobil is introducing a digital test in Moscow, which reveals the driver's suspicion of a state of increased fatigue and lack of concentration, in which it is impossible or not recommended to drive," the operator's press service said.
-
The first test period will last for several weeks. After that, the obtained data will be analyzed and threshold values of indicators will be determined, if exceeded, a travel ban will follow. The test results will also influence the driver's rating. We have to figure out how to make it mandatory.
- So far, the company has a positive assessment of the project's prospects. “Pilot” in the regions showed high accuracy of digital tests, comparable to classic breathalyzers. Not all drivers will have to pass the test. So far, only for those who take a car from 23.00 to 05.00 hours. According to the company, during this period, the risk of a drunk driving is the highest.
- Earlier, Delimobil announced another innovation. The operator began to issue rental prices to customers individually. For the calculation, the driver's rating is used, which, in turn, is influenced by the driving style, the number of fines for traffic violations, the frequency of trips and the timeliness of payment for services. Negligent customers will pay more and risk getting blocked.
