A video showing an unsuccessful attempt to drive a Mercedes-AMG G 63 on Kijkduin Beach in the Netherlands was posted on Instagram by VDH Automotive. Inexperienced driving led to four flips and the need to evacuate the SUV with heavy equipment.
- The injured car turned out to be an AMG G 63 SUV in the Edition 1 version, whose cost, according to the Hartvoorautos, exceeds a quarter of a million euros, and is practically new. It was registered this summer. Apparently, the driver decided to test his capabilities off-road, but did not take into account the nuances of the coverage.
- Kijkduin beach, where the Gelendvagen driver wanted to do the trick, is fine sand soaked in water. Therefore, an attempt to disrupt the SUV into a controlled drift led only to overturning and subsequent multiple overturns.
- Judging by the photographs, Gelendvagen is badly damaged. The roof of the SUV is jammed and the rear struts of the body are deformed. At the time of the accident, the driver got off with a slight fright, but will have to compensate for the repair of the SUV - the car did not belong to him.

As part of the update that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class went through in July, the SUV's drive electronics have a new operating mode. It is called Desert and is designed just for driving on sand. The AMG G 63 version is equipped with a twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine developing 585 hp.
