Video: Honda Stops Selling NSX Supercar In Australia - Nobody Needs It There
The HondNSX supercar is no longer available to order in Australia. According to the local newspaper CarExpert, sales of the hybrid coupe in recent years have been numbered in units. That said, the NSX won't be the only Honda model to leave the Australian market.
Hond Australia failed to sell a single NSX this year. Between 2016 and 2019, only two coupes were found each year.
- The publication connects such low popularity of the hybrid supercar with its price: in Australia, the NSX will cost 420,000 local dollars (just under 300 thousand US dollars or 23 million rubles). At the same time, the all-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracan Evo costs only 40 thousand dollars more here, and the rear-wheel-drive version of the Huracan is even cheaper than the HondNSX.
- As part of the local restructuring, Hond is also ditching the Jazz and City models. The local lineup will be based on the Civic family and the HR-V and CR-V crossovers.
- The NSX returned to the Hond and Acur lineup in 2016. The two-seater coupe is equipped with a hybrid power plant with a petrol turbocharged V6 and three electric motors, which together develop 573 hp. and 644 Nm of torque. The first 100 km / h of the coupe is gaining in about 3 seconds.
Owners of the previous generation NSX in the United States will be able to use the services of a factory supercar restoration program: Acura intends to launch a similar program.
