Large Crossover Hyundai Palisade Certified In Russia With Two Motors

Rosstandart has published the Vehicle Type Approval issued to the Hyundai Palisade crossover. According to OTTS, Palisade will be produced for our market in Kaliningrad. The crossover will receive two motors, two types of drive and one gearbox.

• The first of the two engines certified for Palisade in Russia is a gasoline V6. With a volume of 3.5 liters, it develops 249 hp. and 336 Nm of torque. Judging by the characteristics, this is the same engine that is installed on other Hyundai models in our country - for example, the SantFe crossover.
• The second engine is a four-cylinder diesel, also familiar. The 2.2-liter supercharged unit delivers 200 hp. and 440 Nm in the range from 1750 to 2750 rpm and is known, in particular, for the new generation of the KiSorento crossover.
• Both engines will have to work with an eight-speed "automatic". Both gasoline and diesel variants are certified in our country with front and all-wheel drive, but which of them will actually enter the market is still unknown.

• Some of the nuances of Palisade equipment are also mentioned in the OTTS. It became known, for example, that a crossover may appear in our country in 7- and 8-seater versions with separate chairs or a solid sofa on the second row. In addition, the crossover is promised climate control, airbags, tire pressure sensors, electric mirrors, cruise control, parking assistant and emergency braking assist function.

  The date of the start of sales of a large crossover in Russia is still unknown, although the period of validity of the OTTS is counted from September 25.
• In South Korea, the Palisade crossover has luxury versions called Calligraphy and VIP. The interior of such crossovers is trimmed with nappa leather and is equipped with a public address system between drivers and passengers, but the Palisade VIP has only six seats, and the passengers in the second row have their own media system.
• Earlier it was reported about the timing of the appearance in Russia of the updated Hyundai SantFe crossover. It is expected to reach the Russian market by early 2021.
