Volkswagen has unveiled the characteristics of the eighth generation bit-fuel modification of the Golf hatchback. The golf, which can be fueled with methane, is equipped with the same power plant that is used on similar versions of the Audi A3 and SkodOctavia.
- The 1.5-liter turbo engine, which received the VW Golf with the TGI designation, develops 130 hp on the model. and 200 Nm of torque. Works with uncontested seven-speed "robot".
- Natural gas is contained in three cylinders with a total capacity of 115 liters: they are located under the boot and under the rear sofa. By tradition, a compact 9-liter gas tank has been preserved, but the fuel is intended only for safety reasons - to get to the gas filling station if methane runs out.
The manufacturer's declared range of VW Golf TGI is 400 kilometers, which is about 50 kilometers less than the Audi A3 g-tron with a similar power plant, and a hundred less than the SkodOctaviG-Tec.
- Volkswagen will switch both the hatchback and the eighth generation Golf wagon to gas.
- In 10 years, natural gas or electricity will become the only sources of energy for the transport of Russian Sakhalin: at the end of summer, the region announced its intention to completely abandon the use of gasoline or diesel fuel.
