Volkswagen has unveiled the Golf GTI Clubsport, the most powerful version of the Golf hatchback to date. The novelty received a 300-horsepower engine, a modified suspension and more efficient brakes. Added Special mode, tuned specifically for the Nürburgring track.

• Outside, the Golf features an additional front splitter and redesigned air intakes, a two-piece spoiler lip on the boot lid, larger sills with black stripes and new 18- and 19-inch wheels. The exhaust pipes are oval instead of round on the regular Golf GTI.
• The engine output of the GTI Clubsport has been increased from 242 hp. and 370 Nm to 300 hp. and 400 Nm thanks to a new Continental turbine, a retuned control system and a larger intercooler. This puts the model on a par with the Renault Megane RS (280 hp, 390 Nm) and the Ford Focus ST (280 hp, 420 Nm).
• Traction is transmitted to the front axle through a seven-speed "robot" DSG. The version with "mechanics" is not provided. The retuned gearbox ratios also helped make the GTI Clubsport more dynamic. The GTI Clubsport spends "less than 6 seconds" to accelerate to hundreds of hundreds (exact figures have not yet been specified), and the top speed is 250 km / h. • The hatchback gets larger and lighter brakes with twin-piston calipers. On optional 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the five-door covers the Nürburgring in 7 minutes 54 seconds - 13 seconds faster than the standard Golf GTI.
• Sales of the model will start in November, but prices have not yet been announced. A regular Golf GTI in Germany starts at 37,607 euros (44.2 thousand US dollars). The delivery of the hatchback to Russia was not reported.
