  • The manufacturer, the German company Mahle, claims that the complete kit can be installed on many of the previously made engines. This will require a minimum amount of improvements. A prerequisite is the use of spark plugs M12 or larger.
  • The essence of innovation is as follows. A prechamber is located in front of the main combustion chamber. Fuel is injected into it long before the piston reaches top dead center, and is sprayed into the main chamber through a separate multi-hole nozzle. Closer to the TDC of the piston, the fuel is ignited in the prechamber, from where the process passes into the main chamber.

    • Accurate play of the settings of the injection and ignition timing allows achieving fuel savings of up to 10% and increasing engine output. Mahle is currently building a demo engine to showcase the benefits of its design. The power of this unit will be 107–160 hp.

    • “The auto industry is looking for ways to unleash additional capabilities of the internal combustion engine, and the technology of" reactive "prechamber ignition is coming to the fore. It is being incorporated into high-tech production powertrains such as Maserati's recent Nettuno V6,”said Mahle CEO Adrian Cooper.
