Video: A Brand New Tesla Has Its Roof Blown Off On The Freeway. Video

The new TeslModel Y SUV lost its glass roof as its owner drove home from the dealership. The story was shared by a user of the resource Reddit. According to one version, they simply forgot to glue the roof during assembly.

- The author of the story is the son of the buyer of the new TeslModel Y, whom, according to him, his father asked, just in case, to take part in receiving an electric car from a dealer. While driving along Highway 580 towards the house, they suddenly heard a strong wind noise and assumed that one of the side windows had opened. However, it turned out that the glass roof of the crossover was blown off.

The buyers returned to the dealership, notifying the police on the way that glass fragments might be lying somewhere on the highway (why they did not pick them up on their own is not specified). The manager who sold the crossover suggested that either a faulty gasket or an assembly error was the cause of the accident.

- The victims were offered to repair the electric car for free, but they refused and are now considering the possibility of a full refund of the purchase in order to purchase something else after receiving the money.

A similar breakdown was reported this spring: the steering wheel of the new TeslModel 3 fell off on the move. The reason for the breakdown was also called a collector's error.
