Mercedes-AMG G 63 Owners Spend 30 Times More On Car Maintenance Than Lada Granta Owners

The monthly maintenance costs of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 were 30 times higher than those of LadGranta. According to this indicator, the G 63 even surpasses the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S-class - such data was obtained by Yandex analysts, having studied the cost of ownership for 116 models of different classes.

• The researchers included depreciation, fuel and insurance costs, vehicle tax, and seasonal expenses - washing and changing tires in the structure of expenses for car maintenance during the first three years of ownership.
• The largest expense for car owners is depreciation, which is the reduction in the value of a car over time. On average, in the first year, a car becomes cheaper by 18%, and in five years - by about half. But expensive models lose value even faster, which affects the cost of ownership. For example, the cost of owning a Mercedes-AMG G 63 is about 357 thousand rubles per month, while LadGrant is only 13 thousand.
• The top five in terms of cost of ownership include the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Range Rover, BMW X7 and Porsche Cayenne.

• At the same time, in the structure of expenses for owners of cheap cars, almost a third is fuel costs, and for owners of premium models, gasoline accounts for only 4 percent of monthly costs. On average, fuel costs in the overall structure of spending take the third place after depreciation and insurance.
• According to a recent study by Auto.ru, it is budget cars that are currently most popular with Russians: more than half of them are considering buying a car worth less than 1.5 million rubles.
