The E93 BMW M3 coupe-convertible was equipped with a power unit from Ferrari in South Africa. The owner of the sports car decided on a radical revision after the factory engine fell into disrepair. However, the modernization of the "emka" was not limited to one engine, reports the portal Cars.co.za.
Under the bonnet of the BMW M3 is a naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine borrowed from the Maserati GranTurismo - this engine was developed in the middle of the last decade by Ferrari engineers. It develops over 400 hp, but on this sports car the engine output is limited to 300 hp. "On wheels", despite a completely homemade exhaust. In the future, the owners of "emka" plan to supplement the V8 with a turbocharger.
- The model retains the rear-wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission, but the clutch is assembled from German and Italian components. The roof of the convertible is welded to give the body more rigidity, and the body of the sports car is modified with the Pandem "wide-body" body kit from the Japanese studio Tra-Kyoto and painted in one of the colors of the Porsche brand.
- In the suspension of the M3, pneumatic elements appeared, allowing you to vary the amount of ground clearance over a wide range, the wheels are 19-inch. It took the owners three years to work with the sports car, but the project is not officially considered completed.
The new generation BMW M3 will be unveiled on 23 September. The sedan will retain the manual transmission in this generation, but it will be combined with the 480-horsepower version of the inline-six, and the more powerful 510-horsepower version of the engine is planned to be aggregated only with the “automatic” and all-wheel drive.
