Video: The Owner Of The Burned-out Electric Car Chevrolet Bolt Forced GM To Open An Investigation

After appealing to the press, a resident of Virginia, Hajima Rojas, managed to get General Motors to react to the incident related to the fire of her Chevrolet Bolt electric car. The concern promised to investigate the reasons for the incident. Reported by the WJLA.
- Hajime Roxas' electric car burned to the ground on July 4. Neither the owner herself nor the firefighters who arrived at the scene could understand why the Chevrolet Bolt caught fire. The insurance company recognized the electric car as irreparable.
- The car cost the woman more than 40 thousand dollars (about 3 million rubles), and the service life at the time of the death of the electric car was about one and a half years.
- Hajime Rojas approached GM with a request to find out why the fire occurred and exclude the possibility of a repetition of this situation with other Chevrolet Bolts. However, according to her, she actually received a refusal: the manufacturer said that the destroyed electric car was the problem of her insurance company.
-
The car owner contacted the local press to warn other owners of electric vehicles of the same model about the incident. GM announced its readiness to investigate only after journalists sent a request to the manufacturer to comment on the situation.
- The story of the electric car attracted the attention of the US government authorities: the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration took over the circumstances of the incident.
