The Main Tuning Show In The United States Finally Canceled Due To Coronavirus

The increase in coronavirus cases forced the organizers to abandon the annual SEMA tuning show, according to The Drive. The event was to take place in Las Vegas from November 3rd to 6th.

• On July 16, SEM executives announced their intention to host the show in the fall. However, since that day, the state of Nevada, where the show takes place, has recorded another 22,360 cases of COVID-19. According to the latest data, the total number of people infected with coronavirus in the state has increased to 52,828, and 890 patients have died.
• The organizers of SEM announced that in the near future they will begin to return deposits for stands and funds for registration of participants. Chris Kersting, President and CEO of the Tuning Show, said he hoped the show could be held in 2021.
• SEM is also considering the possibility of deploying the show in a virtual format with "live elements".
• Earlier this year, international auto shows in Detroit and Geneva were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is already known that the car dealerships in Moscow and Paris, scheduled for August and October, will not take place.
