BMW has unveiled the production version of the iX3 electric crossover. The novelty will be released in China.

The iX3 is powered by a fifth generation eDrive powerplant with a 286 hp electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The novelty has no four-wheel drive versions. The maximum speed of the electric vehicle is electronically limited to 180 km / h.
The lithium-ion traction battery with a capacity of 80 kWh, located under the floor, provides a range of up to 460 kilometers on the WLTP cycle and more than 520 kilometers on the NEDC cycle.
The electric transmission, together with the battery, increased the curb weight of the car to 2,185 kg - this is 305 kg more than the all-wheel drive BMW xDrive30i. The volume of the trunk has decreased from 550 to 510 liters, and its volume has decreased by 40 liters with the rear seats folded down - to 1560 liters.
BMW iX3 received a "blank" radiator grille with blue inserts, and inserts of the same color on the sills and bumper group. The front bumper has got vertical "fangs" of the air intakes, and the rear one has lost an insert made of unpainted plastic and a cutout for the exhaust pipes.
In the interior of the electric crossover, there are even fewer differences from the BMW X3 with an internal combustion engine: this is a digital dashboard with the latest interface, a panoramic roof, three-zone climate control, an electric boot lid, LED headlights, already declared in the basic configuration. Optionally, they will offer a head-up display, noise-absorbing glass, seats with a sporty profile, a parking assistant and a premium audio system Harman Kardon Surround Sound.
Production will start later this year. It will be organized at the BMW-Brilliance JV in Shenyang. The BMW iX3 will go on sale in the fall.
The price for Germany has already been announced - 68,040 euros. The all-wheel drive Audi e-tron 50 quattro costs 67,358 euros, the Mercedes-Benz EQC will cost 69,484 euros, and the Jaguar I-Pace is significantly more expensive - from 75,351 euros.
