Video: New Crossover Maserati: First Photos

Maserati senior designers Danilo Tosetti and Klaus Busse have posted photos of a prototype of the new Maserati crossover on their Instagram accounts. An SUV called the Grecale will have to take a position one step below the current Levante. The premiere is scheduled for this spring.

- The images of the off-road vehicle are blurred: they resemble screenshots of an action video rather than full-fledged photographs. However, you can see that the Grecale will receive a more dynamic silhouette than the Levante, as well as a different front end design with an enlarged radiator grille.
-
How much more compact the Grecale will be than the Levante is still unknown. The crossover is based on the AlfRomeo Stelvio platform, the wheelbase of which is about 200 millimeters less than that of the current Maserati SUV. Earlier it was reported that the difference between the two SUVs will be rather market positioning: Grecale should become a more practical model.
- Nevertheless, if for the future novelty Stelvio borrows not only the platform, but also the engine range, we can expect the appearance of a "charged" version of the Grecale with a 510-horsepower engine from Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The debut of the pre-production prototype of the Maserati Grecale should take place in the spring of this year, and the release of the novelty on the market is scheduled for 2022.
The Levante SUV itself was updated at the end of last year. The crossover was slightly modified in appearance and equipped with a new media system based on the Android operating system.
