Sedan Dodge Charger Turned Into A Pickup And Sold - Yet Inexpensive

An unusual light pickup truck based on the Dodge Charger sedan has appeared on the Bringatrailer online auction. For a 2006 car modified a couple of years ago with a 5.7-liter V8 Hemi, they ask for 8.5 thousand dollars (626 thousand rubles), but there are still 5 days until the end of the auction.

• The current owner purchased the car in 2018 and then sent it for rework. The four-door sedan was converted into a pickup truck using a kit from Smyth Performance. Thus, the Charger lost the rear half of the cabin, receiving instead new fiberglass sidewalls with aluminum reinforcements, a steel rear door, a central partition and additional side windows.
• In addition, the body was strengthened in key places for Charger, and the rear optics for the cargo platform were borrowed from Chrysler minivans. The battery and spare wheel were hidden under the platform floor.
• The car underwent full maintenance of the chassis in 2018. At the same time, the standard springs and shock absorbers were replaced with Eibach and Koni components, and the brake calipers became orange. The unusual Charger rests on chrome-plated 20-inch wheels.
• The pickup did not receive all-wheel drive: the rear-wheel-drive donor sedan was equipped with a 5.7-liter eight-cylinder engine with 340 hp. and 530 Nm of torque paired with a five-speed "automatic". The Charger's interior is finished in gray leather and includes dual-zone climate control, heated seats, and a stock audio system with CD player and cassette recorder.

• In December, another unusual Charger was put up for sale - a little-known Charger L-Body model in the back of a three-door hatchback with front-wheel drive and a 2.2-liter 84 hp engine.
