Porsche has announced yet another Guinness World Record for the Taycan. He was able to demonstrate a top speed of 165.1 km / h indoors, improving the previous record by 26.7 km / h. By the way, he lasted seven years.

  • To set the record, the fastest version of the Taikan, the Turbo S version, was used. According to the terms of the Guinness Book, the entire race, including acceleration and braking, must take place in the same room, and Porsche called this one of the main difficulties. As a result, one of the exhibition halls of New Orleans, whose area reaches 93 thousand square meters, was chosen to set the record.
  • Additional problems were created by the concrete covering of the floor of the room. According to driver Lech Keen, who sat behind the wheel of Taikan, the car at high speed behaves on such a surface as on bare ice. “Suddenly, even such a huge space, which we had, becomes very small,” said the athlete.
  • The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is equipped with two electric motors developing up to 761 hp. When using the standard launch control, the electric car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. The record was set by the Taikan version equipped with carbon ceramic brakes.

  • The Porsche Taycan has already recorded several unusual records at once. For example, an electric car got into the Guinness Book for the longest distance covered in a controlled drift. And earlier this year, with the help of the Taycan, the record was broken for the famous, but not very legal race across America called "Cannonball".
