The head of Renault Groupe Luca de Meo, in an interview with Automotive News, shared his vision of the future, which awaits the LadNiva SUV. According to the idea of the head of the company, with the change of generations, Niv will not only preserve, but possibly even strengthen its off-road capabilities.

  • Luca de Meo compared the very idea of restarting LadNiv with the upcoming revival of the iconic Renault 5 as an electric car, as well as with the emergence of a modern interpretation of the Fiat 500 hatchback - it took place, among other things, on the initiative of de Meo himself.
  • They promised to keep the retro styling in the design of the future Niva, while, according to de Meo, it will be more off-road oriented than the serial modification of the DaciBigster crossover. "Niva" is planned to be positioned as a car mainly for extreme driving conditions - in its image, according to the head of Renault, it will in some way overlap with Land Rover Defender and Suzuki Jimny.
  • At the same time, the simplicity and practicality inherent in the LadNiva design should make the model attractive in foreign markets as well. According to de Meo, the market niche that the SUV will occupy, for example, in Europe, will be small, but profitable: such a car could be bought by Swiss and Austrian owners of highland estates in order to get to them without any problems.

  • De Meo also announced plans to bring Niva to markets outside of Europe - for example, to the countries of South America. However, the SUV will most likely get there under the Renault brand and with a different exterior design option. In general, the sales volume of soplatform SUVs under the Lada, Renault and Daci brands should reach one million units.
  • At the end of January it became known that the new generation of LadNiva, which is scheduled to be released by 2024, will receive an enhanced version of the CMF-B platform. It will retain the rear differential lock and the all-wheel drive system (albeit based on an electromagnetic clutch) and may in the future be equipped with a Renault Arkana turbo engine.
